How to Apply – Undergraduate

Find out how you can apply for your course

Once you've chosen the perfect course for you, it's time to apply!

For the majority of courses, you will apply through the, but it will depend on your course. To find out about your course of interest use our course search, all the information about the course and how to apply can be found on the course pages.

Once we have received your application, we'll look at it on an individual basis.  We like to look at your personal statement, your predicted grades, your reference (your interview, if appropriate) and, of course, your qualifications before deciding what offer to make to you. The typical offers listed on the course pages are a guide and your offer may vary from that.

UCAS Tariff Points

We recognise the UCAS Tariff point system. Conditional offers may be expressed as either grades or UCAS Tariff points.

Sometimes it is helpful to use the UCAS Tariff so that recognition can be given for taking an Extended Project Qualification or a (fourth) AS level.

The Tariff can also be useful for expressing some flexibility in the grades required (e.g. CCC and BCD attract the same points).

Contextual Offers

We believe that everyone who wishes to pursue higher education should have an equal chance to access their course, regardless of the challenges they may be facing.

One of the ways we can do this is through contextual offers. These are offers that have lower than usual entry requirements. Typically the reduction is the equivalent of two A-level grades.

When we receive your UCAS application we take into consideration the information you have provided to see if you fit any of our contextual offer eligibility criteria.
